Somehow I knew that throwing the question out there (And that’s what photography’s all about, right?) would cause a debate. It's certainly different for everyone. I love to document where I've traveled, and I also love shooting unusual things that are beautiful. I love fine art shots, artistic street photography, great portraits... there's a lot of facets to what makes photography great in my mind.

I love this shot. I remember standing atop the rocks and just looking down endlessly.

I'm glad we have this picture as a memory. :D

"It really feels, to me, like being there. And that’s what photography’s all about, right?"

Errr....No. :)
To me photography is about two things: 1) capturing images my children as they grow up, and 2) finding beauty or interest in unusual or usually overlooked places. That's why I don't even normally carry a camera with me when I travel. I'd rather just absorb the unusual, beautiful things I see when I travel, while saving the camera for the things at home I see every day. Totally backwards, I know.
